 RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Continue to improve database resiliency by architecting sound solutions that maximize uptime and have a solid, documented, proven Disaster Recovery (DR) solution.  

* Work with software architects and technical managers to design replication solutions that support both transactional and peer to peer replication across three geographically dispersed data centers.

* Work with Operations team planning server hardware, storage and OS configuration upgrades to help get the most out of SQL Server for specific application requirements and performance metrics.

* Work with other team members to implement new industry leading off-the-shelf SQL Monitoring tool that provides a at a glance dashboard of system health/up-time.

* Continue to improve and automate the refresh of development and test environments both on-premise and cloud based hardware and storage. 

* Act as a the first line of defense on improving queries that impact customer experience and communicate back changes and recommendations to the development group.

* Coordinate with second shift team to improve processes with overnight maintenance, deployments and monitoring so you and your manager can sleep soundly through the night.

Web Application Developer

The Web Application Developer will be responsible for supporting the existing infrastructure as well as develop new technologies.
The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities. Tasks Expected to be Performed

The database developers role is to utilize new or existing requirements to design and develop transactional and analytical databases as a part of the software solution to meet the customer’s needs.  The database developer will model and design data schemas for the database, and will implement those designs, building tables, scripts, functions, and other code components to support the implementation.  The database developer will optimize the database design to improve performance.  The database developer will provide production system implementation, maintenance, and support as needed.  The database developer will primarily be working with, but not limited to, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008, including Analysis Services, SQL Server Integration Services, and Reporting Services, but should also be familiar with other environments.  The database developer may be called on to implement CLR functions within the data environment, and must be able to work with traditional structured databases as well as XML columnar databases and object database models.  The database developer will be required to work in a service broker enabled database environment, in order to support asynchronous database tasks.  The database developer will be expected to write queries and procedures that utilize SQL, XQuery, and similar query methodologies.  The database developer is expected to provide support to all ongoing efforts, including providing technical support, user education support, defect and incident tracking, and requirements management.
